Connectivity is the key to our region’s successful development for it creates more opportunities for investment and for intensive business contacts. This was stated by Prime Minister Rumen Radev at his meeting with Albania’s President Bajram Begaj. At their talk in the Prime Minister’s Office, they discussed the potential for the promotion of bilateral cooperation in a number of areas of mutual interest.
Prime Minister Rumen Radev focused on the opportunities for interaction in trade, transport, reciprocal investment, culture, education and tourism. The meeting placed special emphasis on the significance of Corridor 8 as a strategically important transnational axis which has a key role in the improvement of regional connectivity.
At the meeting Prime Minister Rumen Radev congratulated President Bajram Begaj on Albania’s major progress in the process of European integration. The Prime Minister stressed, inter alia, the role of the Bulgarian national minority as a bridge of friendship between Bulgaria and Albania.
The meeting noted the two countries’ good partnership within the framework of regional cooperation. Recognition was given of the shared allied commitment of Bulgaria and Albania within NATO to ensure regional security.
