Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov had a meeting with members of the Jewish community in Bulgaria on the occasion of the great religious holiday of Passover. The newly elected President of the Organization of the Jews in Bulgaria Shalom Dr. Alina Levi and the President of the Organization of Friends of Israel in Bulgaria Negev Prof. Alexander Oscar presented to Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov the symbols of Passover – matzah (flat unleavened bread) and kosher wine. The meeting was attended by the Chair of the Central Israeli Spiritual Council Maxim Delchev, the Chair of the Zionist Federation in Bulgaria Nikolai Galabov and the Director of the American Jewish Committee’s Bulgarian Office Victor Melamed.
Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov thanked for the courtesy and emphasized that such meetings stand for the common democratic values that we share. The representatives of the Jewish community thanked the Prime Minister for his friendly attitude towards the community.
