Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov: To do our best to make cooperation between Bulgaria and Switzerland still more rewarding

As a government, we will do our best as required to make cooperation between Bulgaria and Switzerland still more rewarding. This was stated by Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov when he met with Guy Parmelin, Head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER) of the Swiss Confederation. Mr. Parmelin is on a visit to Sofia at the invitation of Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov to mark the fourth anniversary of the foundation of the Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology – INSAIT.

 

Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov emphasized the Swiss support for the implementation of programs that promote growth in Bulgaria and provide opportunities for better education and better competitiveness. Mr. Jeliazkov stressed that the Swiss-Bulgarian Cooperation Program under the second Swiss Contribution/Cohesion in an amount of some CHF 100 million was launched in February 2025. The Program covers five key areas: education, public safety, protection of the environment, innovation and social inclusion.

 

For his part, Guy Parmelin likewise emphasized the excellent bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Switzerland and the prospects for their development. He praised the INSAIT that was founded four years ago and recognized the benefits for both countries from its research work.

 

Later today, Rossen Jeliazkov and Guy Parmelin will visit INSAIT to join the event to mark the fourth anniversary of the foundation of the Institute.
