Prime Minister Rumen Radev: We make first step to organize Eurovision 27 in Bulgaria

22.05.2026

Today we are making the first step towards the organization of Eurovision 2027 in Bulgaria owing to Dara and her team. I believe that this great success will inspire us to outdo ourselves. We will make every effort to place Bulgaria where it belongs, deservedly on the world map. This was stated by Prime Minister Rumen Radev who met with singer Dara at the government headquarters today.

Prime Minister Rumen Radev congratulated Dara on her victory at this year’s major international song contest. “I thank you for the immense joy, for the feeling of national pride that you brought to fellow-countrymen and for the positive emotions of millions of people around the world,” Rumen Radev said. Further he said: “The Bulgarian people needs such triumphs which give self-confidence.” The Prime Minister stressed that Dara has become a player in European politics and gave as an example his visit to Berlin, where Chancellor Friedrich Merz welcomed him in person before the official talks with the prize-winning song on loop.

“Bulgaria is a great country with a lot of potential and, after all, I want to see this potential develop and real changes materialize in the country – changes that all these people who joined the protests wanted to see,” said Dara. In her words, her victory at this year’s Eurovision is particularly important for young people in Bulgaria as it demonstrates what a strong spirit and full dedication can achieve.
