
Ivo Hristov was born on 8 October 1970 in Istanbul.
He graduated from the Athénée Royal de Bruxelles. After his service in the Bulgarian National Army (1988-1990), he was discharged and transferred to the reserve.
Ivo Hristov graduated from the Faculty of Law with the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski in 1994.
He worked as a journalist for RFI-Bulgaria, NTV, the Bulgarian National Television (BNT). He contributed to the establishment of BBT (Balkan Bulgarian Television), L'EUROPEO magazine and A-specto magazine. He had publications in "Tema" magazine and "Sega" newspaper.
In 2009, Ivo Hristov was the initiator of the political alliance Solidary Bulgaria.
Ivo Hristov is the translator of many novels by Romain Gary, Marguerite Duras, Tonino Benacquista, Philippe Djian and other writers.
In 2017-2019, he was the Chief of Staff for President Rumen Radev.
In 2019-2024, Ivo Hristov was a member of the Group of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament, elected on the BSP (Bulgarian Socialist Party) ticket.
In 2021, Ivo Hristov actively contributed to the campaign that led to the re-election of Rumen Radev as president.
