Ivan Demerdzhiev - Minister of Interior

He completed his higher education at the Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv, where he obtained a Master's degree in Law. He specialized in litigation representation in complex commercial cases, bankruptcy and property law.

 

His professional career is closely related to the legal profession - he is a long-standing member of the Plovdiv Bar Association, and in the period 2019 - 2021 he was its chairman. Manager and partner in a law firm with expertise in commercial, civil and administrative law.

In 2021, he was the acting Minister of Justice and Deputy Minister in the same ministry.

In the period 2022-2023, he was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior in the two consecutive governments of Galab Donev.

Since May 8, 2026, he has been Minister of Interior in the government of Rumen Radev.
