Nikolay Naydenov - Minister of Justice

Nikolay Naydenov, age 51, is an expert with over 20 years of strategic experience in the administration of government institutions, social reforms and international law.

 

In 2023-2024 Nikolay Naydenov served as Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Policy in direct control of EU funds management under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) and the Human Resources Development Program. His expertise was vital to the coordination of the Ministry’s anticorruption action.

 

Previously Nikolay Naydenov was the Secretary General of the Anticorruption Commission (Counter-Corruption and Unlawfully Acquired Assets Forfeiture Commission), Secretary General of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) and head of a department within the Council of Ministers Administration.

 

Nikolay Naydenov represented Bulgaria at the institutions of the UN and the Council of Europe. He was elected Vice Chairman of the Governmental Committee on the European Social Charter in Strasbourg.

 

Nikolay Naydenov holds a Master’s Degree in Law and a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. He has further specializations in the areas of human rights protection, public procurement and human resource management. At present he is a practicing lawyer with a focus on legal service for beneficiaries of European projects.

 

Languages: fluent in French and English.
