How can I be evacuated from Ukraine?

Bulgarian citizens who want to be evacuated must contact the \"Situation Center\" of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria via email: crisis@mfa.bg. Our compatriots must provide the following information:

 Name, Surname, Family name

 Contact telephone;

 Location (location and address);

 Type of Bulgarian identity document they have.

If they need assistance, Bulgarian citizens in Ukraine can turn to:

 The Bulgarian Embassy in Kyiv on the following telephone numbers: +380 44 235 4389; +380 44 235 2202, as well as on-duty telephone numbers during non-working hours: +380 44 246 7237, +380 44 246 7672.

I am already in Bulgaria and I have a Ukrainian biometric passport. What to do?

Ukrainian citizens, EU citizens or citizens of countries listed under the visa-free regimes in possession of biometric passports can reside on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria without a visa requirement within 90 days for a period of 6 months. For holders of non-biometric passports, the visa requirement under the Visa Facilitation Agreements remains. You can find more information here.

* Men with Ukrainian citizenship aged 18 to 60 are subject to mobilization, according to the current Decree of the President of Ukraine on mobilization as of February 25, 2022. They are not allowed to leave the country during the mobilization period.

I am a Ukrainian citizen and I do not have a biometric passport. How do I apply for refugee status?

To apply for international protection in the Republic of Bulgaria you must be located in the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria. You can fill-in and submit the application to directly on arrival at the Bulgarian border checkpoint, to any Bulgarian state body or directly to the State Agency for Refugees with the Council of Ministers. For a group of more than 30 people, it is possible for the State Agency for Refugees to send a mobile team.

Will I be accommodated upon my arrival in Bulgaria?

During the procedure for obtaining refugee status, you can be accommodated in the Registration and Reception Center of SAR at the Council of Ministers or at an address of your choice, if you have the means to meet your basic living and household needs.
