“Jointly with our security services we are seeking the most appropriate way to ensure a safe corridor for the movement of our countrymen from Kiev.” This is what the Foreign Minister said at an extraordinary briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Prime Minister Kiril Petkov participated in the briefing.
Minister Genchovska stressed that a special group has been set up as an application and that it includes all people willing to flee Kiev. Thereby, our countrymen have already been informed about the hour and the point of departure tomorrow. Our main task is to take our countrymen out of Kiev in a safe direction from where they will leave for Bulgaria, she added.
To quote her, three full buses have left Odessa and are bound to Bulgaria and in addition to Bulgarian citizens, we have been able to take four Italians and two Ukrainian citizens on board.

“We have recommended that all Bulgarian citizens who use their private cars should fill 20 liters of fuel and never let the petrol go down as long as they are in the territory of Ukraine,” Bulgaria’s Foreign Minister said further.
Bulgarian diplomats are posted at the border-cross checkpoints in Romania and Moldova to help make smooth the passage.
As it became clear at the Foreign Minister’s briefing, curfew has been imposed in Kiev from 05.00 PM to 08.00 AM (i.e. 17:00-08:00) until Monday and this makes the transportation of out countrymen extremely difficult as they are disallowed to go out of home and to move around.
